Desert Door is a craft distiller of a premium and unique Texas spirit known as Texas sotol. It’s made from three ingredients: wild-harvested Texas sotol plants, water from our own well, and yeast. Desert Door distillery is the only sotol distillery in the United States. Craft cocktails, gourmet snacks, and curated goods are available in our desert-modern tasting room, featuring a cozy fireplace, comfy couches, and a rotating display of art by regional artists. All are welcome - including children and dogs. Sotol was the first alcoholic beverage ever consumed by humans in Texas 800 years ago, and the plant has been in use for over 13,000 years. Our sotol is smoother than whiskey, less smokey than mezcal, and it doesn’t burn like tequila.
